4 Signs It’s Time to Invest in a Screen Enclosure

Whether you’ve heard of or know what a screen enclosure is or not, there’s a good chance you aren’t aware of all the benefits it has to offer. Many people think screen enclosures keep you sheltered away from the outdoors and look unappealing, but the reality is the opposite is true. A screen enclosure adds

SuperScreen has become a popular product over the years known for its longevity and durability on screen enclosures ( just Google Superscreen Reviews ) . Whereas some screen meshes used in Florida only have a lifespan of a mere 3-5 years, SuperScreen had a manufacturer's material warranty of 10 years. Indeed it was (and is) a superior product to standard fiberglass screens. The basis for such, is that it is made from a high quality polyester fabric, which is naturally stronger than fiberglass, and doesn’t deteriorate as rapidly. Superscreen was once made by Twitchell here in the United States. The keyword there is ‘once’. This was a popular selling point as naturally we want to contribute to our american economy. These days, Superscreen is no longer made in the USA. Nope not any more. Many homeowners, still think Superscreen is made in the USA. Many contractors still pitch it as ‘Made In America’, but that is no longer true. I’ve been unable to get exact details on where it is made now, but this insect mesh is likely made in China, Sri Lanka, or Mexico (or a combination of the 3) where fabric manufacturers are prevalent. What does this mean for you and your pool cage or screen enclosure? Great question. First of all, the material base and manufacturing process probably hasn’t changed. The same process could be applied anywhere in the world. The warranty still remains the same, so Superscreen is still a sound product From a consumer perspective, you know longer have the value of contributing to the United States, and the brand name isn’t worth paying for. There are a couple other competitors to Superscreen out there that offer a similar polyester product (ie. it is probably coming out of the same factory), and warranty without the brand name premium. My suggestion would be to go with a polyester mesh that your contractor will offer to you at the best price.

Updated: 9/27/2017 10pm: I’m writing this on a whim, late into the evening, so lets dive right in.  I’ll edit and update as we go.  I’ve been through many hurricanes but none quite like this that absolutely destroyed. Here’s what you need to know.   1) It’s going to take a loooooong time to fix all

On most screen enclosures built in Florida, Orlando – Tampa – Miami – Fort Myers – ETC, the estimate/design process goes something like this: Customer: Hey there, we need an enclosure that is this shape? Contractor: Ok that will be $X,XXX On a lot of projects like a simple rectangular pool cage with 4 90* angles and

Screen is all the same… right? Wrong!  Yes, there is more then one type of screen mesh covering all these enclosures.  You actually have a few different choices.  Not enough choices to make your headspin, but enough to warrant making an informed decision.  There is good screen that will outlive you, and there is screen that

Palm Beach County Florida alleges that ‘Florida Screen Builders (CBC1254009)’ committed fraud by altering plans.  If the allegations are true, up to 285 screen rooms could be impacted or up to code.  According to the Executive Director of Palm Beach County Building, Planning, and Zoning,  and  Rebecca Caldwell “some of the designs would’ve been less expensive
